please let me know if you have Glut book, in order to fallow the structure of my teacher.

    Writing Assignment 1: Concept analysis.

Our primary text for this module, Glut, gives us a very long and wide overview of historical and natural-world approaches toward large-scale data organization. We have also touched on several key thinkers who connect us to the worlds of philosophy, and science. These thinker include Plato, Aristotle, Foucault, and Otlet. We have begun to define the differences between competing systems (taxonomy and folksonomy, for example); and discuss the significance of these choices (memes, for example). We have questioned how the structure of data affects the perceived “meaning.”

Please select a concept from our course materials that is of interest to you, and pose a provocative question related to this topic. This should be a question to which there is no “right” answer. Consider using some of the questions we posed in class as a source of inspiration.

Write an analysis of this concept.
The final paper should be between 1300 to 1500 words (approximately 4 to 6 pages), not including your Works Cited or References page.
Rely on Glut and at least one of the Canvas readings as your primary sources.
Supplement your paper with at least three additional sources. (So you will have a total of at least five sources minimum.)
Document your paper appropriately. You may use APA or MLA formatting, but you must be consistent with the format you choose.
Be sure to include your name, an interested title, and page numbers. Use standard font and margin settings. Please double-space.

I am more interested in your ideas, in the connections that you can make with our materials, and with the original research that you include in your paper. Formatting matters, but I don’t get too hung up on it beyond the basics included above. I will use the rubric on Canvas to assess the essays.

When you are finished, please upload your paper to the appropriate link on Canvas.
