Put this list in order from what you believe is your strongest to your weakest communication skill. Select one

communication strength and one communication weakness, and write 500 ? 600 words on each using the following

instructions:
i) Your communication strength:
– outline your key communication strength (e.g. writing, listening, interpersonal, intercultural, public

speaking);
– outline what makes for best practice in this area according to the communication literature (e.g. what does the

literature argue makes for good public speaking/listening/writing/
interpersonal);
– using the literature to support your claims, outline the grounds on which you believe that it is your key

strength (e.g. provide observational evidence from your life);
– suggest strategies for further improving this skill based on best practice recommendations in the literature

ii) Your communication weakness:
– outline your key communication weakness, (e.g. poor listener, difficulty with writing, difficulty with public

speaking, communication anxiety);
– outline what makes for poor practice in this communication area according to the literature (what does the

literature argue makes for poor listening skills or poor public speaking skills, for example?);
– using the literature to support your claims, outline the grounds on which you believe it is your key weakness

(e.g. provide observational evidence from your life and link it to the literature);
– suggest strategies for further improving this skill based on best practice recommendations

Purpose of assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to enable you to:
-reflect on your own communication skills
-identify strategies for further enhancing those skills
-make connections between the theory and your own practice of communication
-actively and thoughtfully select the most appropriate evidence to construct your argument
-write with clarity and focus in order that you may best express yourself within limited parameters
-adhereto academic standards
