I think cognitive is important in the field of Psychology studying how people think and react or there judgment. Cognitive is the study of mental process in a person there thinking memory and judgment. Studies show many of these people are researchers and work in schools or in the community to help to make sure community programs are effective. They have studied why people think and react the way they do. In some instance how they learn is all parts of cognitive psychology. I think that in my future job as a Medical Assistant this can be used by how someone react to a statement. by how someone reacts I can tell there true feelings or maybe a feeling that they cant explain. Almost like reading between the lines. Maybe some day you might deal with someone who has a addiction and knowing about this theory might make you understand them more.
