Choose a literary text from the Renaissance period* (1450-1660) and study it.

After conducting research on the historical/political/social events of the period and region, analyze the text and write about how the text reflects the culture from which it came. You will discuss the text itself from a critical perspective – not by summarizing the plot, but analyzing the text as a whole – keeping in mind literary elements (character, setting, theme and symbol) as much as writing style and voice. The paper should be a discussion of culture as well as literature, and this is where your research will come in.
You may choose to select a text that is included in the C Volume of your anthology, or you may look beyond our textbook. You are free to choose from any region and a variety of genres, as well: poetry, fiction (both long and short), and drama. You will send me a short proposal about 2 weeks before the paper is due, so I will be able to share any concerns with your choice at that time, should there be any.
Requirements:
• 3-4 pages of solid content, Times or Arial 12-point font
• MLA style throughout, including proper spacing and heading, the use of properly formatted citations and Works Cited page.
• 4 academically sound sources, one of which is the literary text itself (no Internet sources allowed, Galileo sources OK)
