measures and treatments

The goal of this project is to integrate what you have learned about a specific body system or organ (cancer selection dependent) including the tissue and cellular structure and function with the knowledge you have
gained regarding how health care providers “work up” and treat diseases.
You will pick a specific cancer of the body. You will have to address the following categories:
1. Identify the organ/system, cell and/or tissue type that the cancer arises from (histology)
2. Describe the normal function of the organ and the exact cellular function (if known) where the cancer arises from (this would be the healthy/normal function).
3. List the predisposing factors and risk factors
4. Describe the symptoms the person may experience and signs observed by the provider (early and advanced)
5. List the screening recommendations (i.e. mammogram every year starting at age 40 for women) and diagnostic tests that are used to diagnose the disease.
6. Explain the staging levels of the cancer
7. Include the 5 year prognosis for each staging level
8. Discuss treatment options at each staging level (include specific side effects and recovery information)
9. Discuss preventative measures
Format: You can prepare it on a medium of your choice but it needs to be in a format that you can present to or handout to peers. Some examples could slides, educational pamphlets or fact sheets, media boards. You will need to list all references either within your project or attached
with your project.

List all references at the end of your presentation. You should use and cite at least three credible references using American Psychological Association (APA) style. References should be listed on a separate page that does not count toward the required length of the paper.
