Class,
So far this semester we have read a great deal about other countries, their laws, their customs, and the differences that we have regarding business practices. For this paper, I would like for you to write about the following:
· Assume you are required to immigrate to a new country. Given your current or future occupation (based on your major in college), I would like for you to choose a country that you would like to immigrate to.
· In your discussion, I would like for you to discuss why you chose that country. Please discuss some or all of the following depending upon how they apply to your new home.
o Political structure
o Economy
o Business environment
o Culture
o Education
o Opportunity
o Any other items you deem pertinent to the decision
The paper should be no more that 3-4 pages long. The only items that need to be cited (in text citations, APA) would be where you utilize a source to help you form your decision. For example, let’s say you decide to move to China and one of the reasons is their growing economy. Cite where you got the information regarding the growth.
While this is an opinion piece, please take the time to give it a bit of thought. Millions of people all over the world have made decisions just like this, many of them coming to this country for the reasons listed above. What I would like for you to do is to look at it in reverse. Where would you go that would appeal to you and the type of life that you want?
There is no right or wrong answers necessarily, but I do want to see a bit of logic and thought in your decision making. So, if you want to go to live on a beach or island somewhere, that’s fine, but how would that impact your job, life opportunities etc. Think of all of the foreign born students that you know, or perhaps are yourself. It can be a daunting and difficult task to pick up and move to another country.
Have a bit of fun with this, but please write something thoughtful and interesting. You never know, you just may want to or have to do this someday
