    Hurricane Katrina Recovery Video

    Context:
    In 2005, Hurricane Katrina’s winds and storm surge overtopped the levees of New Orleans, flooding over 80% of the city. This video presents an overview of the damage done and the progress made in rebuilding. Professor Walter Lane, Economics Chair at University of New Orleans, discusses many of the economic concepts that apply to Katrina’s aftermath, including the role of government, supply and demand, free market capitalism, and so on.
