Choose a topic and write a brief (4-5 pages in formal essay format) to review some scientific articles that relate to a topic we covered in the human biology curriculum of Biology 101 *note the topic must be about human biology – if you want to choose a a research topic that involves research outside of humans – you must relate it to human biology in some sense.
This must include references to scientifically sound sources (peer reviewed journal articles), and these references must be cited in the correct scientific format.

Below are some examples of topics that have been used in previous years:
Topic 1: “Study yields new hope in war against superbugs”
Topic 2 : “ Keeping fit can yield huge benefits to your brain”
Topic 3: “Breast Cancer survival predicted by new Canadian Tool”
Your analysis should include a summary of the hypotheses of the experiments, the results and discussion of the results and most importantly – your opinion of the study. Why did you find it interesting and what did you learn about the topic.
Use the knowledge that you have gained in this class to convey the information in a way a scientist would understand.

Total = 10 marks
Chapter 1 in your textbook (pgs 5-10) give you information related to how science is done and how to think critically to evaluate scientific claims. Incorporate this material into your assignment and convince me that the information you are conveying is scientifically sound and comes from a peer reviewed source. Your paper must be referenced in a scientifically accepted format (MLA or APA) – for example: look at the format of the references included in the papers you have chosen or in the index of your textbook.
