In this assignment you will state again a thesis and work mostly on analyzing the text and selecting appropriate quotes that are relevant to your thesis. Your thesis and the quotes should answer the following question:

– How does Heidegger determine the meaning of being?

Format:

1. Thesis statement (in which you answer the question stated above). Note: you do not write a full introduction.

2. Five (5) paragraphs, each contextualizing, stating and explaining a short quote. Make sure to make connections to your thesis evident.

E.g. “Heidegger asks the strange question: what is the meaning of being? He refers in particular to our own being, our very existence. He approaches this question as follows: “SHORT QUOTE FROM HEIDEGGER” (p. 201). In this passage he explains that we already have a sense, or vague understanding of what being is. What he means with that is … With this he determines the meaning of being as x, because …”
