Assignment

Assume that you are the Principal Doran. Prepare a scholarly narrative report that will analyze the implications

(pros and cons) of establishing a policy or modifying an existing policy that would uniformly deal with the issue

of allowing certain groups to assemble in order to give a concert and have views about anti-Semitism. In doing

so, consider the impact of a policy would have for achieving the vision and mission of the district, the impact

on the school culture, sensitivity to community values, and the political climate of the community and the

district. Support your position with at least five peer-reviewed research or literature references (other than

your texts for this course). The narrative portion of the assignment must contain the following headings and

sections You are to prepare a doctoral level paper, 5 to 6 pages

This brief section will identify the problem in a single sentence.

After you have addressed the questions listed in the case study assignment, review and prioritize the significant

Implications and Recommendations
Refer to the data and information in each category to solve the problem identified in the case, consider the

implications, respond to the questions outlined below, and make recommendations to address the implications.

Questions to Research, Consider, and Address:
The following questions will need to be addressed by the members of each team to identify the key issues in the

case study. You will need to identify specific data and information from the case and categorize it according to

people, place, or program or a combination thereof and reference same as you identify the key issue you will

identify.
1. Did Assistant Principal Slater evaluate the credentials of the rap group properly? Why or why not?
2. Three different recommendations were made by the assistant principal. Which one do you favor? Why?
3. What additional alternatives not identified by the assistant principals would you suggest? Why?
4. The principal and Mr. Slater seem to believe that voluntary attendance is a relevant factor. Do you agree with

them? Why or why not?
5. If you were the principal, would you be comfortable with the manner in which the superintendent is addressing

this matter? Why or why not?
6. Principal Doran believes that public schools should provide a forum for exchanging ideas provided the dialogue

10. Is it possible to use the conflict sparked by the assembly as a catalyst for improving racial and ethnic
