    “Competition Law and policy in Japan on abuse of dominance: An incisive analysis of anti-monopoly law in Japan, with reference to the US and the EU law

    Inarguably, Japan is one of the economic powerhouses of Asia. With this growth in her economy, the role of anti-monopoly law especially on abuse of dominance has never been more important than now. The growth and expansion present additional challenges to the anti-monopoly law. The increasing globalization of competition law has created convergence and this has a significant bearing on most jurisdictions of the world. Against this backdrop, we endeavor to carry out an incisive analysis of anti-monopoly law in Japan with keen interest on abuse of dominance comparing her policies with the US and the EU law. We shall also highlight the implications of the increasing globalization of competition law on Japan’s antimonopoly law and propose salient reforms to her regulatory structure.
