Article Discussion: Health care professions are adapting to many changes in service patterns

Earlier in the course, you conducted a review of the literature and presented the article in a discussion forum. This week, I would like you to take this one step further by developing a formal annotation (summary) for the article. When multiple articles are viewed and combined, this is referred to as an annotated bibliography. Annotating an article involves reading the article, briefly summarizing the article (3-4 sentences) and then providing some analysis and reflection (i.e., why is the article important and worth reading; what value does the article bring to the situation) in another few sentences. The following link provides a more detailed description of an annotated bibliography (Purdue Owl: Annotated Bibliographies).
    Assignment:
There are many issues concerning health care personnel. As a manager, you will definitely be involved with these issues, so this topic should be important to you.
    • Pick one of the topics listed below on personnel issues and find a current peer-reviewed article about the topic published within the last 3 years. The article should be at least 3 pages in length and should not be an editorial or commentary article within the peer-reviewed journal.
    • Once you have reviewed the article, write an annotated summary of the article including an assessment of the peer-reviewed article as well as some reflection of the significance of the article.
    • At the end, provide the reference for the article in the proper APA format.Post the annotated bibliography on Thursday before midnight (EST).
    • Respond to at least two other postings for each forum by Sunday before midnight.
    • Keep in mind that not submitting timely, meeting minimum word count, including external references, and responding to an instructor comment will result in loss of points.
