QUOTES ARE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE PART OF THE WORD COUNT SO PLEASE USE AS MANY QUOTES AS YOU WANT!!! One of the references MUST include the book itself.

To be considered adequately researched, each essay must draw on at least 3-4 academic sources that the student has sourced; these are in addition to any required readings from the course. Academic sources include scholarly books and articles from refereed academic journals; they do not include newspaper or magazine articles or (most) internet resources, although you may also draw on these in your essay, if relevant. Essays must be accompanied by in-text references and a full bibliography. If you are in any doubt as to research or referencing requirements, please consult your tutor.
Marking Criteria – essays will be graded with regard to the following factors:
– Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the topic and texts under discussion
– Depth and cogency of reflection and analysis
– Originality of ideas
– Breadth and quality of research, including use of other unit materials and independent research;
quality of engagement with these secondary sources
– Quality of written expression and referencing
