I would like this essay to focus on the idea that an ethical business culture cannot be created ONLY with strong regulation. But that the morals of the individuals (especially by setting a tone from the top) are equally important.
Regulations cane be flouted – people can pay lip service without actually paying legitimacy.
Therefore, there has to be more that the fact that individuals are legally prohibited.
Regulation is a sign-posting mechanism – a red light.
Inevitably, people will do what they believe is ethically correct.
If possible, I would really appreciate if you could incorporate using the film ‘The Purge’ (2013). Do we really believe that if laws were taken away everyone would go around killing each other? As rules of the land were disregarded for a day, and still some people did not commit crimes.
This essay is for a competition (within Commercial law), so originality and assertion is a must – which is why I gave my ideas. In regards to industry sectors, I believe there is a lot going on in the financial industry, but if able to incorporate another industry that is different too that would be great.
And in regards to references, online are accepted but please to not use more that 4.
Max – 600 words.
