    Thesis paragraph

The problem of lack of health care insurance for artists can be seen as lack of right policies that can help them stay together as a group, a union that can fight injustices and go on a strike when they need to. This failure was a result of several important trends: many of the artists like to work as solo artists because the nature of their work makes it hard for them to work together as a group, and, despite the efforts of artists to form organizations?American Artists? Guild being one example?they cannot quite become the strong union that that they need to be.
These events are significant because their inability to unionize is a major obstacle for visual artists to be united and exert more cultural and political power as a group. Then, American Federation of Musicians is a crucial example for visual artists to benchmark because the Federation?s success has been enormous. Since the early 20th century until very recently for this year?s presidential election, the Federation has been able to have the musicians? voices be heard.
One unique aspect of the Federation that makes it different than American Aritsts? Guild is that it is set up more like a union than the Guild. In a guild-like organization, the members can share information, but they do not develop much further. Their activities are much more internal, taking place within the group. The musicians? group is different. Its outlook and activities are decidedly external, dealing with people and organizations outside themselves to strengthen their power, whereas the artists stop at encouraging and consoling themselves, sharing information with the outside world, but they do not go much further. The answer for artists lies in the successful case of the musicians. Artists need to form an organization that can adequately deal with outside forces, like politicians and their constituents, in order for them to be strong and influential enough as a group to have their employers offer them a better health care package.
Here is my outline of this essay.
If you can fine better failed problem and solution please use it.

    What is the problem?
    Describe how the problem originated
What is the cause of the problem?
    Who does the problem effect?

Describe the initiative or the public policy
    Brief history of thepolicy
(ie: ___was started in ______. It was suggested because…)
    What does ______ do?
    Who does it effect?

    Benefits of _______
Relate _____ to the people/group of persons you are focusing on
What will _____ do for the group you are concerned with?
(How does _____ fix the problem?)
ie: Because ______provides medical assistance to those who do not have adequate health insurance, people who are artists will be covered.

Are there any alternatives to ______?
(if so… explain how these alternatives do not have the same amount of coverage, or how it is not plausible.)
(ie: Artists should pay for insurance themselves. However, since they are not making enough money/do not have a consistent flow of money, maintaining payments would be difficult)
How feasible is this as a solution?
What are the downfalls (partially covered above)
    Will it work in practice?

    Support and Opposition
    Who supports this decision?
    Why do they support it?
    Who opposes this decision?
    Why?
For those who oppose this, what do they think we SHOULD do?

    CONCLUSION
What is the problem (BRIEFLY! One sentence. Two sentences MAX)
Offer the solution (_____ will fix this… because)
Then say something like… even though we have other options, this is the best option because of the benefits it offers (give examples… should be stuff you have already said… just paraphrase it)
    Say something significant.
In other words… WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT THIS!?
(ie: this is a problem that affect ____ Americans. Which is 1 in every ____. If something as simple as providing _______ to them, and we have the power to do so, taking action and putting this solution into effect is the best way for all Americans to have some peace of mind knowing that whatever happens, they will have medical coverage.)
