The passage of scripture for the devotion is (NIV) which is a small section of what is called the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus is teaching the crowds high above the Sea of Galilee. Jesus says these words; Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in hour brothers eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.
Jesus is talking about human relations and interactions that apply directly to life within organizations. From time to time, our coworkers, boss, subordinates, and others will be frustrating and irritating. Sometimes we are tempted to confront the behavior that is causing the problem. If we apply the words of Jesus, we will be slow to confront others’ behavior and only do so after we have carefully examined how our behavior is contributing to the issue at hand.
