The New Federalist
Paper details:
“The Federalist Papers” are a series of essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay promoting the ratification of the United States Constitution. At the time, the targeted audience was the people of New York and the authors wished to influence their vote in favor of ratifying the Constitution. Your goal for this assignment is to convince a new age of Americans that the topic you’ve chosen to write about is highly relevant to the future of the United States. A blend of research material from independent study, to develop your proposition paper in the form of a Federalist paper is required. This does not mean you will write your paper in the style of “old English.” Rather you will write it following a more modest structure, including 6 – 9 pages in length, double-spaced, 12 point font, a suitable cover page and reference page (which are both in addition to the 6-9 pages). Regarding references, you must include a minimum of 10 unique sources/authors.
The topic, issue, concern, or idea you choose can be very broad or highly focused. Regardless of your topic, it is expected that you will use APA 6th Edition guidelines for documenting your references on the reference page as well as in-text citations. An APA primer will be provided on Blackboard, but it’s always beneficial to have a copy of the complete book available for reference.
Sources from the Internet will not be considered “research” unless they represent something that is actually in print somewhere and/or clearly represent the research of a specific author(s) associated with a credible agency or organization. Essential to this assignment is your argumentation regarding the topic chosen.
