The purpose of this project is to create a visual text of your topic. This multi-media project will be presented in class. You will also produce a written text—a detailed reflective overview and works cited—see instructions below for WRITTEN COMPONENT: REFLECTIVE OVERVIEW. Your written text is due when you present your project in class.
VISUAL COMPONENT:
Your role is to present information and get your audience to act.
This is an opportunity to be creative.
Your PowerPoint must effectively present your project and images must be clear and large enough for viewing by your audience.

WRITTEN COMPONENT: REFLECTIVE OVERVIEW
Paper Requirements:
· MLA paper format, double-spaced
· Maximum length: 2 pages text and Works Cited
· Cite at least 3 sources (info and visuals) including websites (video clips) and copyrighted material–e.g., pictures, tables, graphs on a Works Cited page in MLA format
· Hard copy of PowerPoint slides—you can minimize to save on printing
Written text: The writing component will be a detailed reflective overview that introduces your project to your audience and that accomplishes the following:
· Gives an overview of your project and clearly states the main point(s)
· Identifies your target audience – – the segment of the public you most want to reach with your visual text
· States your purpose—what you want to achieve with your visual text in your role as informant and advocate
· Reflects on what you learned from doing this project and explains your process – – the steps you took – – in producing your visual text
· Shows your sources cited with correct MLA full citations on a Works Cited page
