A nonconforming material disposition assignment will be completed by a group. This group will be assigned a product that is nonconforming (ie., does not meet functional specifications.) Each group (assigned by instuctor) will consist of;
a. Quality Engineer
b. Manufacturing Engineer
c. Design Engineer
d. Marketing/Sales Representative
e. End Product Representative (Representative from company that
manufactured the product)

Each group must reach consensus defining product ONE product disposition; how nonconforming product will be reworked (part meets original specification with completed work), repaired (part does not meet functional specification with completed work), replaced, or scrapped. A typed report must be submitted that includes the following:
a. What is the nonconforming condition? As you define the nonconforming condition be sure to include the functional specification or requirement that product does not meet.
b. What is ONE disposition? The disposition MUST include a rational WHY you are chosing rework, repair, replacment, or scrap disposition
c. Define the sequential operational steps to rework or repair product. Include time and cost estimates of these operational steps.
d. If replacement disposition is determined, what will product be replaced with? (Research is required for part replacement ensuring product is available today. Please list manufacturer, part name and number and cost of replacement part)
e. Corrective and/or preventative action required to eliminate nonconforming condition from occurring/recurring.
